SureClose Hinge is a new line of heavy duty hinges just announced by D&D Technologies.  While there are many styles in this new line we will concentrate on the self-closing models targeted at pools.  The models designed for pool, child and pet safety are known as the “SF” models.  ”SF” stands for safety and that’s what we at FenceMax.com are all about.

SureClose has flush mount SF models in both aluminum and steel. The aluminum version can screw fast to the post and gate where the steel one is meant to be welded fast.  SureClose will close up to a 260 lb gate, carry a 1,500 lb point load and has been tested up to 500,000 cycles.   They also come with an unheard of 2 year factory warranty.  With the hydraulics concealed inside the post this hinge is not prone to leaking like it’s competitors.  Both the aluminum and steel versions come in a self-closing model and a regular non-self-closing model.  A typical installation consists of a top hinge that is self-closing ( and controls the rate of closure ) and a bottom hinge that is regular ( not self-closing ).  Both hinges also require mounting brackets that are sold separately.

I am attaching a wood gate to a conventional chain link round fence post. Do you have a combination hinge?

Answer ::

Yes, and it will also work for a chain link round frame gate being attached to a square post.  The Tru-Close line of hinges for round posts will work in this situation.  The round Tru-Close are made to fit different sized round posts and gate frames by simply changing out different sized shims.  If you want one side to fit to a square post, just leave the shims out.
