Tru Close Hinge ( TCA1L2-MK2 )

Question: Can I just add a Tru-Close hinge to my existing gate to make it close?

Answer: The short answer is no.  The reason you can not is the Tru-Close hinge will have a different pivot point than your current hinges.  This will cause the hinges to bind and eventually break.  Sometimes folks have an extra heavy gate and want to add an additional Tru-Close hinge to the pair they have to increase capacity.  This is not recommended either since you would have to line the hinges up perfectly to not have them bind and prematurely fail.  Doing this will void the warranty.
